Review: Forever Red Vanilla Rum - My Highest Self

Review: Forever Red Vanilla Rum

Forever Red from Bath & Body Works captivated my senses with its debut back in 2012.  The combo of Rich Vanilla Rum, Pomegranate, Apple and more had me at hello!  I was pretty convinced BBW could not improve on this scent.  Next thing you know, I’m picking up Forever Red Vanilla Rum and I am singing its praises times two!

Forever Red Vanilla Rum Review

I love Forever Red Vanilla Rum with its combination of Mandarin, Jasmine, Apricot, and of course…Vanilla Rum!  The scent is sexy and warm and I cannot get enough.  I have actually been spritzing this on when I head off to bed, it is SO GOOD and really sets a mood ;).

From BathandBodyWorks.com:

An enticing blend of vanilla rum & black lily drenched in decadent créme de cassis

Top Notes: Sparkling Mandarin, Créme de Cassis, Black Lily

Mid Notes: Jasmine Petals, Sheer Gardenia, Apricot Nectar

Dry Notes: Rich Vanilla Rum, Seductive Musk, Black Cashmere Woods

Between Forever Red, Forever Midnight and Forever Red Vanilla Rum I really can’t choose a favorite these days!  The travel size is 50% off right now online!

Product purchased by me.

Have you tried any of these BBW scents yet?  If so, what do you think?

That sounds lovely. I don’t have access to the store here, but when I’m back in ‘Murica I’ll check it out!

I don’t know what I’d do without my BBW but I suppose you have awesome beauty shops we don’t have here too :).

We do, but they are stupid expensive. I allowed myself only one perfume purchase in three years while I was in Paris. I’ve bought a few things for the Hubby but those were Christmas/v-day and not really unisex! Life in Europe is automatically 40% more expensive based on currency alone. The standard of pay here is much higher and the cost of items is reflective of this. Since Hubby works for the Americans, we get pain american wages without a stipend. The average dinner out a non fancy place is about $90 USD. Needless to say we don’t do much or buy anything other then food.

Oh wow I never realized that it was SO much more expensive to live in Europe!

There are areas where it is cheaper. The Euro is obviously still a factor everywhere. Spain, Greece, Malta, rural parts of Italy are easier. Hell, even Paris is cheaper! Due to the financial crisis, those areas are cheaper and Germany where I live is higher. I also live right outside Frankfurt which is the center of EU finance so it’s priced more like Manhattan. I live in an area that’s essentially their “Hamptons”. I live in a crappy american apartment on base but the surrounding towns are lovely and Frankfurt is a great city to visit now and again. It’s just not feasible to live well on our salary because of these factors!

I love the original Forever Red (owning it in both lotion and fragrance), and this sounds heavenly as well! I’ll have to pick it up on my next shopping trip. Thanks for the head’s up!
