Starting My Day with BōKU® Super Foods

If anyone tells you that what you put in your body does not affect your mood they are flat out wrong.  In my experience, starting my day with a fast food breakfast versus a more health-conscious breakfast like oatmeal or a green smoothie is like day and night.  When I start my day with a healthier choice, everything just seems to work out better. Since adding green smoothies to my breakfast routine a few years back, I’ve been experimenting with super foods and protein powders.  Today I’ve partnered with BōKU® to share how I incorporate these healthy powders in my everyday life.

Green Smoothie with Super Food

Typically, I will make a green smoothie for breakfast about 4 days a week.  Here’s my basic green smoothie recipe, you can adjust it depending on your tastes.  Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been adding a scoop of Organic BōKU® Super Foods to my smoothie.  The amazing ingredients list is SO LONG and includes Super Greens like Nopal Cactus and Kale, Super Algae like Spirulina, Super Shroom Mix with Reishi, Chaga and more; Super Fruits, Super Enzymes, the list goes on.  One scoop of these Super Foods added to my smoothie keeps me energized and feeling great the whole day. The ingredients in the super foods are some of the most potent, organic foods know to humankind and delivers Antioxidants, Vitamins, Minerals, Probiotics, and more.  I feel like it would be very difficult for me to get all these benefits just through the food I eat in a day. I love the boost that I get from BōKU®!

When I know I will be heading to the gym for a longer workout, I will add BōKU® Super Fuel to my smoothie.  You can use this either before or after your workout. This addition to my smoothie provides a mind and body lift without the crash.  The ingredients includes adaptogens like Maca Root Full Spectrum Cordyceps and more. If you have not had the chance to experiment with adaptogens in your daily routine, I highly suggest you give them a try.  It’s hard to explain, but I am a big fan of the overall feeling of energy (but also calm) that comes with the use of adaptogens. Each person is unique and what works for me may not work for you, but give them a try if you think it sounds like something you would benefit from.

Lastly, a couple of times a week I use Organic BōKU® Super Fiber +, adding a scoop to 8oz of water.  I will drink this with my daily selection of vitamins and it helps to clean the body from the inside.  Ingredients like Oat Bran, Pumpkin Fiber, Flaxseed, Ruhubarb and more help to cleanse the colon and aid in optimal digestive health and bowel function.  These are all things we make take for granted but play a big role in how our body responds to our diet and exercise.
