Get in the Comfort Zone with Stouffer’s Mac & Cheese

Being a work-at-home blogger and mom, I know plenty of folks think that I must have oodles of free time.  Maybe some folks even think it must be so boring to work from home…or so easy.  My point is, there are a lot of misconceptions about the situation.  The truth is, my day is actually pretty hectic and I have to carve out time to eat and relax.  On especially crazy days (hello Monday, I’m talking to you!), making dinner from scratch can be too much to handle.  Stouffer’s single serving Mac & Cheese entrees are just the thing for those type of days!  Is there anything that fits the bill for “comfort food” better than mac & cheese?  Stouffer’s has launched four varieties, each is freshly made with real cheddar or mozzarella cheese and pasta made from just two simple ingredients: flour and water.   In just a few minutes I can have a warm, delicious, comforting dinner by preparing one of these entrees.  I had the chance to try two varieties:  Stouffer’s White Cheddar Mac & Cheese and Stouffer’s Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese.

Right off the bat, I was shocked at how big and fluffy these pasta noodles are!  I paired the Stouffer’s White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with a side of carrot sticks and crackers for a little crunch.  Oh, and I like a dash of freshly cracked pepper on there too.  Guys, the cheese sauce was just overflowing!  The ultra-creamy, oh-so-cheesy flavor is deee-licious.

My personal favorite, Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese, boasts those big and fluffy noodles in a creamy garlic parmesan cheese sauce.  As someone who is big on the texture of my food, I loved this one especially because of the garlic seasoned bread crumbs.   Taking a bite of the full-flavored entree and getting bread crumbs in every bite was heaven!  That warm, fuzzy feeling you get from comfort food like mac & cheese can be like a big hug at the end of a long day.  I love that the garlic and parmesan flavors really come through in a big way.  The sauce is creamy, and the bread crumbs stay crunchy and never fall flat as you eat.

Whenever I need a convenient and delicious dinner option, I know I can grab one of the four varieties of Stouffer’s Mac & Cheese entrees.  The quality ingredients give frozen foods a better name!  The delicious flavors seal the deal for me and these are also great for a little “me-time” where I can grab my favorite book or magazine and my Stouffer’s.

I love mac and cheese! I always go for the cheap version that I grew up with (nostalgia, I suppose) and find the “fancier” homemade style to0 heavy and cheesy, but these look and sound like a nice balance between those two. The Garlic Parmesan looks great with that added crunchy texture – plus, garlic! Love the garlic! Thanks for the thorough review, it’s the next best thing to trying it for real.

Oh my gosh, mac n cheese is basically my favorite food. Stouffer’s does make a pretty good one, if you don’t have time or energy and just need something to pop in the microwave or oven (depending on which you get).
